Today's Conundrum:

How can two magnets attract one another and repel one another simply by rotating them?

Cutting the Cake Conundrum (from BP1):

How can you divide a cake into 8 equal pieces using just 3 straight cuts?

Cutting the Cake Conundrum Answer:

  1. The first cut is vertical and will give you two equal halves.
  2. The second cut will be vertical also and perpendicular to the first cut.  You now have four equal parts.
  3. The third cut will be horizontal and cut all four of the parts into two equal parts.  You now have 8 equal slices of your cake in only 3 cuts!
