Cutting the Cake Conundrum (from BP1):
How can you divide a cake into 8 equal pieces using just 3 straight cuts?
Cutting the Cake Conundrum Answer:
- The first cut is vertical and will give you two equal halves.
- The second cut will be vertical also and perpendicular to the first cut. You now have four equal parts.
- The third cut will be horizontal and cut all four of the parts into two equal parts. You now have 8 equal slices of your cake in only 3 cuts!
